A Very Happy Thanksgiving

One of the most wonderful things I give thanks for this year is the reunion of our family. It has been almost 6 years since we have enjoyed the company of some very important family members. This Thanksgiving brought us together again... what a beautiful day.

Baking Cakes

So, I've been enjoying cake decorating... but I haven't posted any of the pictures, yet (I don't think). Here are a few: Sean and my 10th anniversary; my birthday cake (yes, I made my own!); Piper's 1st birthday cake (we call her "Smiley"); Roxy's 4th birthday cake (my favorite, so far - a Hello Kitty cake at her request); and a special 1st birthday cake for a friend's daughter. Who knew I would ever enjoy baking so much?!? :)

Has it really been over a month?

Amazing.

Though I love to blog, I have come to the realization that I need to not put so much pressure on myself to write at length for each entry. Knowing that just a few catch up words/sentences will suffice should, hopefully, get me back on track. Between raising three beautiful girls, homeschooling (!!) and giving my husband the attention he deserves, the blog has to take the back seat on this big ol' bus.

So, here's the quickest catch up in a nutshell:

Homeschooling: is still an incredibly awesome experience. I cannot even fathom sending Dillen back into the public school system (nor private) and I am over-the-top ecstatic at how much Roxy is beginning to learn.

ROXY!: TURNED FOUR!!!! We had an incredible weekend of festivities for her. On her actual birthday (November 7th), we took her to Build A Bear where she and her sisters brought their own special stuffed animals to life. Roxy chose Hello Kitty, Dillen chose a dog and Piper got a snow leopard. After we went to Roxy's choice for dinner... Ruby's in Laguna Beach. :) On the 8th, we had an AWESOME celebration at the girls' gymnastics studio where 19 friends played and romped around the studio. Then we all ate the Hello Kitty cake I baked especially for Roxy. (And it was tasty if I do say so myself!).

So, Happy Birthday dear Roxy. You are an incredibly loving, sweet and humorous child whose laugh is contagious and stubborn ways will surely get you far in the future. You are taking a strong stand already, letting the world know that you are no typical "middle child." You sparkle with a twinkle in your eye like no other. You are unique, adorable and sassy. You still like to dress up fancy but now with a funky twist. Your favorite colors are purple and pink and you are obsessed with Hello Kitty. Your physical talents and natural abilities make me think you could be a prodigy in dance or gymnastics. You are delicate but also a spritely little spit fire not to be reckoned with. And we love you so very much.
