Snip, snip.

It's official.

The first thing Dillen asked when she came home from school and spotted him was, "What's that?" referring to the ice pack on Sean's umm... err... lap. Sean said, "It's an ice pack." Dillen came back with, "Why is it right there?" Sean said, "I have an owie... well, the doctor gave me an owie." Dillen asked, "But why?" Sean and I just looked at each other and couldn't stop from laughing. We really had no idea how to explain this one.

But I tried. I told her that daddy had a surgery so that we wouldn't have any more children. She gave me the most curious face and said, "But why did daddy have the surgery? He doesn't have the children, you do." OK. Soooo... and what age do you explain the facts of life to your child? I certainly am not ready but decided I would take the first step and said, "Well, it takes both mommy AND daddy to make a baby and someday I will explain this more to you." Dillen didn't like that answer and wanted a better explanation. All I said from there was, "Let's just put it this way, daddy has something in his body that looks like little tadpoles. He gives those to me and I put them in an egg in my body and then the baby grows inside of me. Today, we got rid of daddy's tadpoles." She started laughing so hard I thought she was going to pee.

No more explaining until later down the road!
