A sea of pink has a whole new meaning...
Being from SoCal, I usually refer to planned communities as "sea of pink neighborhoods" because, typically, all of the home colors are in various hues of pink.
Well, the term has a new meaning for me now. Dillen went to her first dance class yesterday. Watching thirteen little 3/4 year olds all dressed in their pink leotards and tights was a riot. I was hesitant to enroll her for fear of becoming a pushy "stage mom" but it was Dillen who began insisting on taking classes. She is soooo into the 12 Dancing Princesses and is loving the instructional DVD. I finally broke down, took her to Payless for the ballet slippers and tap shoes (yes Payless - where I did NOT pay less!) and enrolled her at a local studio. Class was taught by a wonderful teacher who had an amazing amount of enthusiasm and energy. It was great watching her keep control of the girls and I was impressed with how well the 45 minute class was laid out. Funny, the moment class started Dillen wanted only to watch herself in the mirror. She would look out of the corner of her eyes to watch what her teacher was doing just so she could follow along but was continuously two beats behind because of her need to watch herself. The teacher even mentioned this to me after class and said that next week she will want Dillen to stand front and center. Haha. If Dillen sticks with it, there is a recital in June. OMG, I would LOVE for her to be on stage... don't push, don't push, must remind myself to not push... lol.
